GreenTennis x China
Ethan Yan is the GreenTennis Chapter Ambassador for China. Currently, studying at the Shanghai American School, he hopes to increase awareness and contribute to more environmentally friendly practices within the tennis community in China.

Problem / 问题
Millions of tennis balls end up in landfills annually where they cannot decompose, taking up to 400 years for just a single ball to degrade. Despite the fact that 99% of tennis balls can be repurposed and recycled, there have been no successful efforts in China to help remediate this issue.
China is the leading exporter of tennis balls, boasting 33% of the world's exports. This equates to around 100 million tennis balls annually.
每年有数百万个网球被丢弃在垃圾填埋场，它们无法分解，一个球的降解时间可能长达400年。尽 管99%的网球可以被重新利用和回收，但在中国还没有成功的举措来缓解这个问题。

2. Recycle Tennis Balls!

Through our recycling bin for tennis balls that was designed by Ethan, people are able to recycle used tennis balls in various clubs throughout Shanghai, with plans to expand to other areas of China.

Once tennis balls are collected, they will be shipped to RecycleBalls facilities in the US along with various rubber recycling facilities in Shanghai!
